Anny Wang
Anny is a Year 11 cello student at VCASS, where she studies with Josephine Vains. At just 11 years of age, she attained both her Trinity ATCL in piano and LTCL in cello with distinction.
Anny has won numerous national and international prizes for cello, including awards at the International Gustav Mahler Competition, the Concorso Internazionale Valsesia Musica in Italy, the Charleston International Music Competition (USA), Frankston Symphony Orchestra's concerto competition, and the Hong Kong International Competition for Strings, among many others. Anny holds a full scholarship with the Pettman National Junior Academy of Music and is the recipient of a Music Matinee Instrumental Scholarship at VCASS. She is a Young Artist in Residence with the International Akaroa Music Festival and was selected for the 2025 String Insiders OSSI program. In 2025 and 2026, she is a finalist in the national 'Strike a Chord' chamber music competition.
In her free time, Anny enjoys playing the piano and violin, as well as performing with friends and fellow musicians in lunchtime concerts and retirement village recitals. She is also passionate about supporting charitable causes through music and regularly participates in fundraising performance.
