Kat Tsyrlin

Kat completed a Bachelor of Music Performance on violin at the Victorian College of the Arts and Master of Music at Melbourne University. Kat is a freelance violinist who has premiered many solo and chamber ensemble works by Australian composers including Joseph Franklin, Gordon Kerry, May Lyon, Evan Lawson and Jenny Game for events including Melbourne Composers League, Forest Collective, Opera Scholars Australia, Zelman Orchestra, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Metropolis New Music Festival and the New York Tropfest Film Festival. Kat’s Allotropy String Quartet performed in a Circus Opera “The Blood Vote” by Jenny Game, nominated for a 2024 Green Room Award for New Australian Opera. Kat is booked regularly for live chamber and orchestral concerts, operas, studio recordings, and has performed as concertmaster or principal violinist with Australian orchestras and ensembles including tours to Italy, Austria, Czech Republic and China.
