Pauline Coates
Although Pauline majored in languages at university, she always loved playing and listening to music. After studying singing and flute at school, she then studied flute, oboe and bassoon with Peter Edge, Vernon Hill, Stephen Robinson and Len Nurse. Abandoning language teaching after the birth of her children, she then concentrated on instrumental teaching and later classroom music teaching. Pauline has been extremely fortunate to have had some outstanding students. Three of her ex-students currently occupy principal positions in professional orchestras in Australia and Germany.
Pauline enjoys playing in MPCO and FSO (with some of her former students) and working with and playing alongside professional musicians.
Apart from music, Pauline enjoys walking in the bush with her dogs, travelling in Germany and doing volunteer work with the elderly.
