Sherri Sibly
Sherri began her formal music education at 7 years of age with Jean Heriot in Kodaly classes then progressed to violin lessons with Brian Blake when she was 8 years old. Solo performances, chamber music and youth orchestras moulded Sherri's musical life leading her to a Bachelor of Music Education at the University of Melbourne. Spiros Rantos became Sherri's violin teacher and later had conducting lessons with Prof John Hopkins.
Sherri then went on to teach at MLC Kew and became Head of Strings at Korowa Anglican Girls' School and has only recently retired from Lauriston Girls' school where she conducted orchestras, directed chamber ensembles and saw the progression of musical students from prep to year 12.
Now living on the peninsula, Sherri is loving playing with MPCO and spending time with her horse Taffy!
